In the present study, the similarity functions C calibrated with the FIFE (First ISLSCP (International Satellite Land Surface Climatology Project) Field Experiment) data set were first used, and the resulting H values were compared with the reference values Hs for additional three data sets of NOPEX (Northern Hemisphere Climate Processes Land Surface Experiment, TABLE (Tsukuba Atmospheric Boundary Layer Experiment) and GAME-T. Then C-functions were recalibrated with the four combined data sets and the same method with the new C-functions produced similarly good results. With the C-functions and the parameterized scalar roughness length for sensible heat, H compared reasonably well with Hs with the rms error of the order of 30 Wm-2.
