This study focuses on an unique behavior of MJO around the Maritime Continent that MJO is redirected to the northward and/or the southward and sometimes weakened. The tool of the study is a high-reolution non-hydrostatic atmospheric regional model whose domain covers the whole Maritime Continent and surrounding regions. The integration time covers a full lifetime of MJO. The model has multiple domains with two-way nesting and is initialized by the NCEP/DOE AMIP-II Reanalysis with 2.5 degrees and 4 times per day interval and the weekly OI sea surface temperature analysis on a one-degree grid. Preliminary results on the behavior of MJO in the model will be discussed.
